Basketry of the year Competition 2016

Molt contenta de rebre el primer premi del concurs International Basketry of the Year 2016 amb aquesta peça "Blue Nansa".

Very happy to have been awarded First Prize in the International Section of Basketry of the Year Competition 2016 with this piece "Blue Nansa".

Exhibiting at the Centre d'art Contemporani La Sala, Vilanova I la Geltru

 

"-ions" mostra de 10 artistes de Vilanova I La Geltru per la Nit dels Museus.  Les peces del Tim Johnson 'Field Packets' i meves es podran veure al Centre d'art Contemporani La Sala fins el 5 de juny.

"-ions" a collection of work from 10 different artists from Vilanova I La Geltru for the special Museum night event. My pieces and Tim Johnson's 'Field Packets' will be exhibited in Centre d'Arts Contemporani La Sala until the 5th of June.

 

 

Catalan trays to the USA

Aquesta setmana he enviat algunes de les meves peces per un craft show a Nova York.

This week I have sent some of my pieces to New York to be sold in a craft show there.

Avui ens ho hem passat fent de models amb unes motxiles fetes amb vímet i olivera que ens han encarregat per un celler.

Today we had fun modelling a commission of willow and olive backpacks before they were collected by a local vineyard...

Nansas at dusk...

Preparant cursos per als propers mesos, aquest vespre hem portat algunes de les meves peces més recents fetes amb la tècnica de les nanses de pesca, al port de Vilanova i la Geltru.

This evening in preparation for forthcoming workshops over the coming months we took some of my recent baskets using the special Nansa fishtrap technique down to the harbour in Vilanova i la Geltru.

These are the bags I have made in collaboration with the fashion brand AILANTO and that will go with their new collection Fall/Winter 2016/17.

I had the pleasure of seeing them in the catwalk together with their beautiful clothes in the Madrid Fashion Week.

Exhibiting at Festivalet, Barcelona

Aquest ha estat un any molts viatges y projectes, aquest hivern em posaré al dia penjant les noves peces i explicant futurs projectes. El darrer cap de setmana vaig començar la temporada de Nadal amb dos dies al Festivalet al Museu Maritim de Barcelona, un esdeveniment molt ben organitzat i amb molts creadors i artesans de qualitat.

It's been a busy year with much travelling and exciting projects, this winter I will be catching up posting some of my new work and telling of plans ahead. Last weekend was a great start to the Christmas season with two busy days at the well organised craft event Festivalet at the Maritime Museum in Barcelona.

Teaching at the German State School of Basketry, Lichtenfels and the Korbmacher Museum, Dalhausen.

Aquest mes he estat viatjant per Alemania.  M'han convidat a donar un curs a dues de les escoles d'estiu de cistelleria: un al Museu de Cistelleria de Dalhausen Korbmacher-Museum durant la seva Akademie Flechtsommer, i també a la Escola de Cistelleria Alemana a Lichtenfels a la Sommerakademie Flechten.

 

This month I have been travelling through Germany. I have been invited to teach in two different summer schools : one in the Museum of Basketry/Korbmacher-Museum in Dalhausen - during the Akademie Flechtsommer and at the German State School of Basketry in Lichtenfels -SommerakademieFlechten.

He participat a la Fira de Cistelleria que es fa anualment a Lichtenfels amb el meu stand i els dies abans col.laborat al Projecte d'Escultura a la plaça amb el Tim Johnson i la Lore Wild.

Following the teaching I exhibited some of my recent work at the largest basket fair in Europe the Flechtkulturfestival - Korbmarkt Lichtenfels and also participated in the festival sculpture project 'Mittendren' working alongside Tim Johnson and Lore Wild.
